A Note for Parents
A Note for Group Leaders
What's NEW in 2019!
We have some exciting changes on the horizon for the summer of 2019 and we couldn't be more excited about all of our camps, both NEW and traditional. We will offer several different camps including our newest additions: Color War Camp and Wacky Sports Camp. Our new camps will join our existing traditional Timbers and Adventure Camps. You can find descriptions of all our camps on our "Summer Camps" page.
Whether registering as an individual or as a group, both parents and group leaders can get answers to all their questions and info on 2019 changes under the "A note for Parents" and "A note for Group Leaders" documents below. Once groups have registered, we'll provide them with detailed and specific info about what to expect during their summer camp experience.
You might have noticed a change in our price point for all of our camps. While our goal has always been to offer quality camps at an affordable price, it has become necessary for us to increase our pricing slightly in the current economy. With increasing food, utility, and supply costs, and to ensure proper safety training and better-qualified staff, we prayerfully approached the pricing for 2019. Campers can secure their spot by paying the same $50 deposit - something that has remained the same since camps began. Whether you wait until the last minute or make payments over the coming months, the balance for individuals is due upon arrival at camp, while groups have until June 1st to make their final payments.
This Year's Theme
With a stronger focus on Spiritual Development in 2019, This year's theme for all of our summer camps is: "I AM"- Exploring who God was, is, and will always be.
We believe that Spiritual growth should be the most important focus of our camps, and we'll have multiple opportunities throughout the day to deepen our faith and challenge campers each day through morning devotionals, cabin prayer times, and small group discussion times, in addition to relevant messages from our dynamic musicians and speaker during evening worship.

Additional Important Details...
Speaker - Dusty Jones
Growing up, Dusty was taught to be good as a young child, but as he grew older, he learned that it was more about being godly than being "good". Dusty accepted Christ while in high school and surrendered to the call of ministry during his senior year. Throughout his college years, he experienced ups and downs in his faith but had one huge wake-up call. God got his attention and opened the doors for him to work at his home church.
While at his home church, he worked with preschool and children before he became the Children's Director. After a few years, his role changed to Middle School Associate and then Minister of Students at a nearby church. After serving for over 15 years in the local church, Dusty has found himself part of the team at Timberlake.
What will your children and youth see from him this summer??? Hopefully, a believer who is still growing in his faith, nowhere close to perfect, but daily relying on God's grace. He is a speaker who stays true to the Word, uses illustrations when needed, and takes seriously the responsibility set before him.
We know your students will be challenged in their faith, and their relationship with Christ deepended this summer as Dusty brings the word to all of our summer camps in 2019.
Speaker - Rob Livingston
Rob grew up in Tamaqua, Pa. where he enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, and playing the Tenor saxophone. In fact, it was his love for playing sax that brought him to Alabama in 1997 to march with the University of Alabama's Million Dollar Band. Along with traveling with the Tide, he graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Ed. In 2002 he gave his life to Christ and was baptized. He began working with the Summer Day camp at Chapel Hill Baptist where he worked for a couple of years until he became the Director of that program in 2005 (and still remains heavily involved with the program today).
Rob began his tenure at CHBC as Volunteer Children's Director while working bi-vocationally teaching school and in 2013 was moved to full-time Director of Children's Ministries and Recreation. In 2019, Rob also had the title of Church Administrator added to his responsibilities. He is also currently pursuing an additional degree a seminary.
When not working, Rob enjoys spending time with his amazing wife and children, enjoying Alabama football, and traveling. He still enjoys bowling and dreams of bowling his 3rd perfect (300) game. Until then, he will be happy teaching his kids to play baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, and (just about) anything else they'd like to learn.
A dynamic speaker and wildly sought after for his contributions to groups in Student Ministry, we are so excited to have Rob joining us as the speaker for our Timbers 1 camp.
Speaker - John Lowe
(Timbers 2 & Wacky Sports Camps)
John Lowe is the campus pastor at Olive Baptist Church's Warrington campus in Pensacola, FL. John has 25 years of student ministry experience and has served churches in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. He can excitedly say that has been to youth camp 29 times as both a student and Youth Pastor. He's taken students on mission trips to Kenya, Canada, Honduras, Nicaragua, Romania, Mexico, Dallas, TX, Jackson, MS, Mobile, AL and Greensboro, AL. He's been married to Bobbi for 24 years. His son, Tyler is a senior at Troy University majoring in Financial Economics. His daughter, Madi is a sophomore at The University of West Florida and is a Communications major. John is looking forward to spending time speaking to students this summer at Timberlake.
Speaker - Landon Tucker
(Color War Camp)
Landon Tucker is the Children's Pastor at North River Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Landon has led various children's ministries over the years including the Camp Pastor of Centrikid Camps. Landon has a heart for seeing young people learn and grow in their faith. Landon is a favorite among students and we're excited to have him share some awesome messages at Color War Camp.
Fun fact: To his knowledge, Landon is the youngest person (under the age of 65) to own all 13 David Phelps southern gospel CD's.
Our Worship Leaders
Jud & Lisa Cameron
Jud and Lisa Cameron have been singing together since they began dating more than 20 years ago. Married in May of 2000, they began working in music ministry right away, leading worship at youth events, church services, and various venues. Currently, Jud leads worship at Anchor Church in Tuscaloosa, as well as other venues outside his home church. Jud and Lisa strive to incorporate music that is scripturally rooted and contextually sound upon every opportunity to work within the call God has placed on their lives. More than playing at events, they believe that discipleship among musicians is an important element of growing a gospel-centered community. With Jud and Lisa being sought after to lead worship at various churches and events, we were thrilled to include them throughout all of our summer camps and look forward to amazing worship here at Timberlake summer camps this year.
